He graduated two bachelor programs in Bucharest, at the National University of Music, studying Flute and Orchestral Conducting. He graduated his MA in Orchestral Studies – Flute in June 2017, at the Royal Danish Academy of Music from Copenhagen and now he is continuing studying the Soloist Class at the Danish National Academy of Music from Odense, as well as preparing his PhD at the National University of Music from Bucharest.
He activates both as a flutist and conductor, as well as music engraver, arranger and teacher. Among his latest achievements there is the recording of an audio album which contains the complete work for wind Instruments by Dinu Lipatti, together with V Coloris Wind Quintet. In the fall of 2020, he created The Flute Ensemble of Royal Danish Academy of Music from Copenhagen, where he acts as its main conductor. He was awarded multiple prizes at national and international music competitions, the latest achievement being the third prize at “Carl Nielsen Chamber Music Competition”, one of the most important competition for chamber music ensembles.
In Romania, he played as first flute – permanent guest of the “George Enescu” National Philharmonic, first flute of the Romanian National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Cristian Măcelaru, he collaborated with the National Radio Broadcast Orchestra, with contemporary music ensembles such as Profil Simfonietta, SonoMania, Archaeus, devotioModerna as well as with other chamber music ensembles. He played as soloist with the Radio Chamber Orchestra, „George Enescu” Philharmonic Orchestra, Gorzow Symphony Orchestra from Poland, and The Danish Youth Orchestra “DUEN”. Among multiple collaborations with ensembles from Romania, Ștefan acts as freelancer in Denmark and Sweden, playing with important chamber and orchestral ensembles: Royal Danish Opera, Copenhagen Phil, Norrekchoping and Helsinborg Symphony Orchestras, Esbjerg Ensemble, Danish String Quartet.
