Dance has become a kind of therapy for me, because when I’m in the rehearsals room I’m highly present, focused, I detach myself from the outside world.

The feeling you get on the stage, when you hear the audience’s reactions, which fill you when you know that everything has gone well and the hard work of rehearsals was worth it, can’t be compared with anything.

Sara Anastasia Șofron


(b. 2004, Bucharest)

Sara-Anastasia studied at the Floria Capsali Choreography Lycée, Bucharest. She went on to study character dance with master choreographer Tom Bosma and attended a contemporary dance masterclass, ‘Consciousness of the Body’s Own Abilities’, with master choreographer Massimo Gerardi. She has won a number of prizes, including Second Prize at the StaREvolution Festival (2017), First Prize at the Crystal Swan Competition (2018), and was placed in the Top 10 at the YSBC Competition (2019). She has worked with the Bucharest National Opera in productions including Le Corsaire and Snow White.
